X-Ray involves taking one or a few pictures of a body part.  Often, x-rays of the bones are taken to look for a fracture (broken bone).  Another common x-ray is a Chest X-ray, used to look for abnormalities in the lungs such as infection.  An x-ray can be done of almost any body part, and takes usually just a few minutes.

The x-ray is read by a highly trained doctor (radiologist).
